First Post

My New years Resolution was introduced to me the second I recieved my Kindle Device on January 3rd. With my hands grasping the coolest electronic device I'd seen in ages, my mouth satiated at the thought of all the books I had accessed at my fingertips: a litteral library held in the palm of my hand. So I began to read, and after my first book, a new years resolution popped into my head. Reading These are the books and a short review of them. After each book, the star's indicate my level of reccomendation.

++++++++++++++++++++

1. Water for the Elephants: Sara Gruen

I was introduced to this book by the previews for the movie coming out about it when I went to see Black Swan with my sister for her birthday. The book is seriously enchanting. I couldn't put it down! A young boy in the 30's is about to finish his vet degree at cornell university, when his parents die in a horrific car accident. He finds out he has nothing to his name, because his parents got a second mortgage for their house to put him through school, and because it was the great depression and his father cound't see animals suffer, bartered for services. He jumps a train which so happens to house a circus show, and he begins this magical life of the circus.

2. Reaper: Rachel Vincent

This I believe was a free book on amazon that I picked up. It was a short book, and only took me a day to read. A boy switches his brothers death for his own, to become a Reaper. Wasn't bad, an easy read to say the least.
Rating: ***

3. The Wager: Donna Jo Napoli

Donna Jo Napoli was one of my favorite Author's growing up. She wrote Beast, a magical version of my favorite Disney movie, the Beauty and the Beast. I also read another book, I forget the name, that also was a gripping novel. This one, however, I didn't think was as gripping as the last. However, I did get some reccomendations from a friend for some good books, which could also be the reasoning behind why I wanted to put it down.

Rated: ****
